Dear Colleagues and Friends,
From Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 September 2009 our 19th annual congress will take place in Porto. The congress centre is located in the city centre in a former harbour commerce building (Centro de Congressos Da Alfandega, Rua Nova da Alfândega – Edifício da Alfândega, 4050-430 Porto PORTUGAL, www.amtc.pt ). It offers excellent rooms next to a pleasant Southern Europe Atmosphere.
Porto has an appealing history going back to the early middle ages and is nowadays well known for it Port wine. In addition to the science, we shall do our best to make it a very pleasant congress to attend. We have just invited the speakers and once more the programme looks very exciting. The programme can already be downloaded from this website. Registration is already possible. Click here to see our flyer.
This year we will have our welcome reception on Monday evening the 7th of September in the Calém Port cellars. Next to some excellent glasses of Port, small snacks will be served. The gala dinner will be held Wednesday 9 September in the Palácio da Bolsa in the city centre. However the number of places is limited so register early. More information can be found on this website. If you have questions or otherwise please email us. Please come and enjoy the science and warmth of Porto September 2009.
Normally our congress starts on thursday and end on saturday. Due to the organisation of the Red Bull Air Race that starts on saturday we have moved our congres 2 days forward. Please take notice of this. We regret that we had to do this but saw no other option. This air race will take place above the Duoro river next to the congress venue and the nosie problem that comes with this event would be dramatic for us. However if you book for our congress a free VIP ticket for the Red Bull Air Race (Saturday only) is included. But realise that the weekend of 12 and 13 September over 700.000 people will visit Porto. More info can be found on: www.redbullairrace.com
But we still hope to see you all in Porto, two days earlier than usual.
